Though most people think of the city skyline when they imagine New York (or perhaps they think of Charlton Hesston screaming at apes; I’m not going to judge the thoughts in other peoples’ heads), New York is actually home to plenty of native wildflowers.
Some wildflowers that you can be sure to find in New York include marsh marigolds, Lily of the Valley, Trillium, and even St. John’s Wort. Sweet clover is abundant in New York state, as are wild mustard and parsnips. The Iris, many people’s favorite flower, is widely found in New York, as is the genetian flower.
